ONKAR envisions a self-reliant society where empowered people will espouse the task of their own development on a sustainable basis. The organization also strives to establish a society devoid of any discrimination on the ground of caste, class, creed, race, language, religion or sex.

The Mission

To bring in a social change and empower the tribal population and other disadvantaged section of the rural population for creating a Sustainable Civil Society.


  • To promote primary education among the under privileged communities specially the girl child to combat the dropouts in the school.
  • To empower the rural women especially in the tribal community by forming the Self Help Group performance and addressing the basic issues of poverty, health ,education and Nutrition.
  • To Impart vocational training to the School dropout youths to make them self reliant.
  • To Impart vocational among the rural adolescents, women, traditional artisans to make them self employable.
  • To mainstream the socially excluded communities specially the LCPs (Leprosy Cured Persons) & LAPs (Leprosy effected persons) through vocational training and sustainable livelihood.
  • To make people aware on the domestic violence against women, Combating the practice of child marriage and child sexual abuse specially on the girl child.
  • To make people aware on water and vector borne diseases, Blood & Vitamin Deficiency, HIV/AIDS Including promotion of safe hygiene and sanitation practices.
  • To improve the standard of living in the rural areas through the proper management of existing natural resources.
  • To encourage and do advocacy for the promotion of the bio-fertilizers, organic farming and Indigenous Rural technology in agriculture.
  • To organize the pressure group among the rural community towards the local self-governance.
  • To do advocacy and generate the mass consciousness against the social evil practices and prejudice.
  • To encourage and promote the art and culture among the rural women artisan and the indigenous people in the area.
  • To Development herbal medicine and capacity building of traditional healers.
  • To work for building and enhancing the capacity of the targeted population as well as of own staff and people associated with other similar organizations.
  • To fight against natural calamities and disaster.
  • To work with and collaborate with the Government and other non-government agencies for bringing in the benefits of different developmental schemes.
